July 4, 2010 lecoqjudi

As I prepare for my final week of physical therapy and stem cell transplants, my mind naturally turns to home.  I feel like I have been gone for such a long time.  Yesterday, I took my daughter to see the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal, at the mouth of the Pacific Ocean.  At both ends of the Canal, on the Pacific side and on the Atlantic side, there are a serious of locks.  The Canal itself is at a higher level and so the ships  must be lowered or raised to reach the canal level.  On the Pacific side there is a 40 foot difference.  We saw a ship leaving the Canal and it was lowered, using a series of locks, to the Pacific.  We had a little lunch and came back to the condo.  In the afternoon we went swimming.  The doctors have told me that I need to be active in order to make sure the Stem Cells do their work.  They also told me not to overdo it or tire myself out.  Today, Sunday, Jessica and I went swimming in the morning and are resting this afternoon.  Everything starts again in the morning.  Mondays are always a big day…physical therapy, spinal injection and IV with my very own stem cells.  Thank you for following my blog…thank you sincerely!
