Monday, May 30, 2011 Memorial Day

Just a moment to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day…..
Today, I am going to spend some time in the pool and some time on the bike. My physical therapy will formally start on Friday…Deb’s schedule was completely booked until then, and the following week we will begin in earnest. From thereafter, I will go to physical therapy Monday, Wednesday and Friday for at least 4 months. I am also back to working 20 hours a week, and so I will be busy. Let us see how this Multiple Sclerosis is going to handle this kind of schedule. I am sure I will be fine.

On another note, I have been asked to speak on MSLOL Radio on June 8th, 2011, between 8pm and 10pm EST. Of course, the topic will be Adult Stem Cell Transplants and MS. I will post further information as I get it. I am really looking forward to sharing my story!

I got up really early this morning…I don’t know why!! I have NOTHING on the schedule today (except bills, cleaning…..) I am working again!! I do have a day off today, but I am so thrilled to be back at work. I have really missed it, but I just wasn’t up for it before. As far as physical therapy goes, the intensive schedule won’t start until next Friday. So I will start out exercising at home until the heavy duty stuff starts next week. I PROMISE I will exercise!! The Stem Cells need to move and I must do this.

Started my PT today. Deb, my therapist from the last Stem Cell Transplant, has not seen me since December. Today is the first time she has seen me since my 2nd Stem Cell Transplant. She told me that I had actually improved since the last time she saw me…ONLY the Stem Cells could do that. There is no doubt in my mind that what I am dealing with here is miraculous, life changing and profound.

I have just returned from my Neurologist’s Office where I got my prescription for Physical Therapy. My Doctor is amazing. He is a well known Neurologist who is completely in favor of Stem Cells. I realize how unique this is. Thank you Dr. Connor!! On Thursday I begin my PT…let’s get those new Stem Cells moving so they can begin their repairing!

Thank you Stem Cells…started the day picking up Michel & Sarah at the airport, after i did the dishes, then I met with financial advisors, did laundry and cleaning, then went to the grocery store. Just finished making Moroccan Couscous and Ratatouille for tomorrow. I know, KNOW this is the Stem Cells giving me a gift.

I spent some time with my sister Sara today…we went to Charming Charlies (a store with tons of stuff like Jewelery, shoes, hats, girlie stuff. We browsed for an hour…I got some bracelets, and then we went to have lunch. This is what I deduced from this outing…balance still needs repair, and the right foot is not behaving. I was on my legs for a long time, no problem. Also, this time out proved once again that the bladder is fully repaired. That balance stuff is really serious…I pray for this Stem Cell Transplant to be the one that repairs that…patience, patience.

OK something really cool happened. I was sitting down and when I went to stand up, I just jumped up like I used to do, like I was 15 years old or something. Last time, the New Stem Cells used to surprise me like this. I mean, this is significant because rising from a seated position has not been easy for a long, long time. I am going to test this again and again!

While waiting to get into formal Physical therapy, I am trying to keep the Stem Cells moving. 8 minutes walking on the treadmill and 6 minutes riding the bike, plus a half hour deading heading roses and watering flowers. I think I am ready to rest 🙂

I admit it: I overdid it today. I have millions of Adult Stem Cells in my body that will do their magic within the next 6 months. I am so excited about what is coming, after the amazing repairs that I received the first time, that I planned a day of going here & there & here…I guess somewhere in World Market, and before the grocery store, it hit me, I have to be more patient!
