A little update…long overdue. I have reached the 5 week mark since my last Stem Cell Transplant. The punishing heat is quite challenging, but I am continuing to work and go to PT. Chef Philippe is quite the social butterfly as well, and that means lots of entertaining! These Stem Cells are working their magic!

It has been so dang hot here in Texas….very hard on MS.  But, I am keeping on.  I go to physical therapy 3 times a week and I am feeling quite strong.  The last round of pt was good, but now I can do even more.  I start the hour on the bike, do all these exercises and machines afterwards, and finish the hour on the treadmill.  I was not up for that last time, so I feel like there is a definite difference.  I am still walking with no cane.  I am still working 20 hours a week as well.  And I do spend a lot of time talking, emailing and facebooking about Stem Cells.  Do I have time for fun?  You betcha’!  Break out the guitars and the singers and the good food…let the party begin!!  Hope everyone has a wonderful day 🙂

Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary!!  I was in Panama one year ago receiving my 1st Stem Cell Transplant.  I began treatment on June 14, 2010.  This will always be a very important day for me.

After the Stem Cell Transplant Update as of today: Started the day on the eliptical machine at pt, followed by an hour of exercising. I worked 5 hours this afternoon and made a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond afterwards. Please don’t ask me to wash your windows…

I have completed my first full week of physical therapy and I am feeling positive about EVERYTHING! First of all, it is brutally hot here in Texas, and this is tough on a girl with MS. All the worst MS symptoms seem to come back with the heat. I am making it, the old repairs are holding and I am still walking around without the aid of a cane or scooter. In PT we are working heavily on balance and strengthening. I feel myself changing even after only a week or so. I am also working at the Music Place and Arts Conservatory. I believe that the Stem Cells are travelling in this body and making repairs. As always, we will have to wait and see! I hope you will be with me on this wait and see journey!

A really cool update: Pinching myself here…last night I was at Uncle Julios (great mexican food) and all of us sudden my right leg, which is my weak leg, began to behave…no foot drop, no drag, no limp. if this is what I will get from this 2nd Stem Cell Transplant…woohoo!! STEM CELLS ROCK!!

I had my first Physical Therapy today and it went great!
We worked heavily on balance today after I rode the bike for a while. This is the start of a great summer!
